How to reduce AI image-to-video artifacts

Troubleshoot changing faces, distorted hands, drifting backgrounds and unstable camera movement with practical reference and prompt adjustments.

Identify one visible problem

Watch the result from start to finish and note when the issue begins. A changing face, distorted hand and shifting background can have different causes. Keep the original prompt so that your next attempt changes a specific instruction. AI output is variable: a clearer prompt can help, but no wording guarantees a flawless result.

When a face or outfit changes

Use a sharp reference with an unobstructed face and visible clothing. Remove extra references that show incompatible styles or angles. Ask to preserve the hairstyle and outfit, then reduce the amount of turning or camera movement. A long or complex action gives the model more details to maintain over time.

When hands or small objects distort

Check whether the hands and object are clearly visible in the source. Complex contact, overlapping fingers or tiny details can be difficult to maintain. Simplify the action to avoid unnecessary interaction. For example, replace “picks up a necklace, fastens it and turns around” with “stands naturally and slowly turns toward the window.”

When the background drifts

Use a steady camera instruction and one consistent setting. Avoid asking for a new room while also demanding an unchanged reference composition. If only the subject should move, say so explicitly. If the camera moves, keep the direction simple, such as a slow push-in, rather than mixing orbiting, zooming and handheld motion.

Resolution is a separate choice

High 720p offers more output pixels than Medium 480p. It does not automatically fix a motion or anatomy problem. Test a simpler prompt first, compare the result and then decide whether a higher-resolution render is worth its displayed cost. Each new generation is a new request, not a free correction of the previous video.
